Paul Edwin McKee, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on January 28, 2026, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 91. Born on December 24, 1934, in Dixson, Oklahoma, Paul dedicated his life to both his family and his career, leaving a lasting legacy of love and hard work.
Paul was a dedicated Lab Technician at the Texaco Refinery, where he served not only as a skilled worker but also as a Workman Union Representative for OCAW Local #4-23. His steadfast support for his fellow workers exemplified his commitment to teamwork and solidarity within the workforce.
An individual of many interests, Paul enjoyed an array of hobbies including duck hunting, fishing, bowling, and woodworking. He cherished these pursuits, often relishing the time spent outdoors and creating beautiful projects from wood.
Above all, Paul was a family man. He and his wife, Hertha McKee, shared 70 wonderful years of marriage, building a life steeped in love and mutual respect. Together, they raised a family that includes their son, Steve McKee and his partner Becky Cole of Groves; daughter, Charlotte Reeves of Groves; son, Darrell McKee and his wife Brenda of Port Neches; daughter, Stacie McKee-Gardner of Henderson, Nevada; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jerri McKee, Brett Kirkland, Samantha Stansbury, Shane Thibodeaux, and Amanda Thibodeaux, granddaughter-in-law, Sarah McKee, and his great-grandchildren, Aubrey McKee, Azlyn McKee, Joshua Smith, Jaxson Stansbury, Brahm Kirkland, Mathias Kirkland, and Nimue Kirkland. He also leaves behind nieces Gina Anderson and Tammy Carmouche.
Paul’s life was filled with cherished moments, especially those spent playing cards with the guys where laughter and camaraderie resided in every hand dealt. His proudest accomplishment, undoubtedly, was the love and care he provided to his family and friends—a testament to his character and generosity.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Pauline McKee; his sister, Carolyn Long; and two beloved grandchildren, Sara McKee and Aubrey McKee.
Visitation will be held on February 3, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home - Groves, located at 5601 39th St, Groves, TX, 77619, starting at 11:00 AM. A Graveside service and entombment will be held after the funeral service at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas..
Paul Edwin McKee shall be remembered as a steadfast pillar of love, support, and dedication to his family and community. May he rest in peace, with his legacy etched forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
