Paul LaFayette Morris, 88, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on February 10, 1936, to his parents Sime Morris, Sr. and Odessa Giles Morris. Paul was a member of Yarbo Assembly of God where he served as a deacon. Paul was a true family man. He loved his family deeply, only loving the Lord more. His favorite song was "I Am Blessed". Every time he heard that song, he would say he was the most blessed man in the world. Paul lived the life of I Timothy 6:6.
Paul is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Nell Beech Morris; his parents; brothers, Marvin Morris, Sime Morris, Jr., Milton Morris, Dewitt Morris, and Curtis Morris; and sister, Lucille Morris Broadhead.
He is survived by his children, Pamela Morris (Eddie) Phillips, Gregory Paul (Sherry) Morris, and Suzanne Morris (Shane) Carpenter; brother, Odell (Diane) Morris; sisters, Vera Nell Morris Goldman and Maxine Morris James; sister-in-law, Myrtice Morris; grandchildren, Crystal Phillips (Heath) Hayes, Brandon (Heather) Phillips, Amy Morris, Matthew (Ashley) Morris, Tyler (Hannah) Dykes, and Taylor (Jared) Carter; great grandchildren, Juliana Hayes, Jesalyn Hayes, Jordyn Hayes, Jackson Hayes, Hayden Phillips, Carson Phillips, Emmalyne Morris, Zeke Morris, Kyndal Carter, Korbyn Carter, Nellah Carter, Amelia Dykes, Annie Dykes and Andrew Paul Dykes.
Services will be held Friday, January 31, 2025, at Lathan Funeral Home, Chatom. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral begins at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronnie Morris, Rev. Kenny Morris, and Rev. Matthew Morris, officiating and Tyler Dykes, speaking.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Phillips, Matthew Morris, Tyler Dykes, Heath Hayes, Jared Carter, and Jackson Hayes.
Honorary Pallbearers are Juliana hayes, Jesalyn Hayes, Jordyn Hayes, Hayden Phillips, Emmalyne Morris, Carson Phillips, Zeke Morris, Kyndal Carter, Korbyn Carter, Amelia Dykes, Annie Dykes, Nellah Carter, and Andrew Dykes.
