Paul Morrisette Obituary
Paul Fredrick "Pete" Morrisette, 81, passed away peacefully at his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on October 26, 2025, surrounded by the love he so freely gave throughout his life.
Born on December 10, 1943, in Norfolk, Virginia, Pete was the son of the late William Gordon "Bubba" Morrisette, Jr. and Myra Hough "Bunch" Morrisette. He was also predeceased by his brother, Gordon "Tony" Morrisette.
Pete lived his life with unwavering integrity, quiet strength, and a heart devoted to service. He dedicated his career to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) as a Contract Administrator, earning respect for his diligence, humility, and steadfast commitment to his work. Yet, his true legacy lies not in his professional accomplishments, but in the countless lives he touched.
A devoted servant to his community, Pete generously gave his time to local YMCAs, serving on the Board of Directors and supporting programs that impacted countless young people and families. His passion for history led him to participate in local historical societies, where he shared stories and forged connections that brought the past to life for friends and neighbors. Pete's strong faith anchored him throughout his life, and he found fellowship, comfort, and purpose at Kings Grant Baptist Church. He was also a proud member and leader of the Huguenot Society, honoring the heritage he cherished.
Pete's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Betty Jane "BJ" Morrisette, who stood beside him through every season of life. He was a devoted and loving father to David Morrisette; Alec Morrisette and his wife, Heather; Rachael (Morrisette) Foss and her husband, Billy; and Matthew Morrisette. As a grandfather, he was a steady, warm presence to Payton and Liam Foss, Madison (Morrisette) Clipston and her husband, Zac Clipston, and Jack, Dylan, and Vance Morrisette. His family continues to grow, with one great-grandchild, Kolson Morrisette, and another great-grandchild on the way.
Pete is also survived by his sister, The Rev. Kathleen "Kate" Bobbitt, and her husband, Rosser; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends-each of whom was touched by his generosity, humor, wisdom, and kindness. To know Pete was to feel welcomed, supported, and truly seen.
Though he will be deeply missed, Pete leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and gentle strength-one that will continue to guide and inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A memorial service celebrating Pete's life will be held at Kings Grant Baptist Church. Details will be shared here once available.
