Paul Kenneth Moyer

Paul Kenneth Moyer passed away at home on February 15, 2024, from complications of Alzheimer's disease and pneumonia.
The firstborn son of Paul and Verna Moyer was born in Hamburg, Pennsylvania on May 29, 1936. He and his five siblings thrived in the smalltown community. He was claimed in the waters of Holy Baptism as an infant and confirmed his faith as a teenager.
After high school graduation, he joined the Air Force and served in the Intelligence Division. Paul was recruited to Texas Lutheran College in Seguin, Texas where he met his bride and graduated with honors with a BBA in Accounting. Paul and Betty were married in Beasley, Texas.
He started his career in Houston and earned his CPA Certification. Then life and jobs took the family to New Jersey, Dallas, and Denver. He earned his MBA at SMU. Their last move brought them to Sugar Land where he completed his career and retired in 2007.
Soccer was an important part of his life, beginning in high school as a player. As an adult he took great pride in refereeing soccer for 48 years, ranging from elementary-aged teams up to collegiate games. He was also a frequent sideline supporter at his own children's and grandchildren's soccer games.
His mother instilled in him a strong sense of faith that was evident throughout his life. He served as an Assisting Minister, Church Council member, Sunday School teacher, Choir Member, and soloist at the churches they attended over the years.
God gifted Paul with the talent of singing. He used that gift to glorify God in church, as a member of the TLC Concert Choir, in liturgical settings, and many special occasions. He sang two solos at the most special occasion of all -- his wedding.
More often than not, he was reading – whether it be a newspaper, a novel, a history book, the Bible, or delving into family genealogy, the printed word was one of his life's passions and great pleasures.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his infant son, two brothers, and a sister-in-law.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, daughter, two sons, two sisters, brother, four grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, numerous other family members, and many friends.
He has joined the heavenly chorus. His mind is clear, his body is whole, and he is praising his Savior all the day long.
