Mr. Paul Michael Overly

Paul Michael Overly, 69, of Baltimore, MD died Jan. 26, 2024, at Johns Hopkins Medical
Center. He was born in Rochester, PA. Paul was employed by the Baltimore City Health
Department for over 20 years. He was the Grants Director.
He was preceded in death by his father George Overly. Survivors include his mother Betty
Overly, sister Donna Coleman, brother Timothy & Kathryn Overly, nephews & nieces Steven
Zirkelback, Bridget Urquidez, Jonathan & Samantha Overly, Joseph & Emmie Overly,
Christopher & Jay Overly, April & Justin Dulin, an Uncle Guy & Martha Moody, 8 great nephews
& nieces, and his beloved dog Sonny.
Paul graduated from Centenary College with a degree in History & Journalism. In his post high
school years he loved performing in plays at local theaters. He was an avid music enthusiast &
loved to collect guitars. His passion was playing his guitars and singing, performing at local
cafes & other venues. He supported local music by organizing an annual roundup of Gretsch
guitar aficionados in Baltimore from 2011 to 2017. Paul loved the Beatles and attended the
annual Abbey Road on the River festival for years. He loved cooking; his specialties were
Indian food, cheesecake, & pizza.
The family thanks the staff of Johns Hopkins for their care & compassion during our time of
grief. We would also like to thank all his coworkers at the Health Department for their kindness,
support, and sympathies during Paul's organ donor honor walk at the hospital. Anyone who
wants to honor Paul's memory can donate to a charity of their choice in Paul's name. Memorial
plans have not yet been made at this time.
