Paul E. Patterson, 85, of Washington, passed away on December 26, 2025, in UPMC Washington.
He was born December 6, 1940, a son of the late William Patterson and Margaret Pearl Lyttle Patterson.
Paul was an employee of Washington Steel for 35 years. He was very proud that he kept working until he was almost 80 years old and would tell almost anyone that would listen.
Paul was a man who liked to stay busy, whether it was bowling, roller skating, DJ’ing, or testing his luck as a big craps shooter he loved it all. When he let himself relax, nothing was better than a coconut or lemon meringue pie and a good TV show. He loved to watch westerns like “Gunsmoke,” but his absolute favorite was “the Equalizer.”
On February 28, 1999, he married Denise Thornton-Patterson, who survives.
Also surviving, are four daughters, Paula Patterson, Deana Patterson, Margaret “Peggy” Patterson and Yvette Williams; a brother, George Patterson; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Paul is preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by three sisters, Bertha Morrison, Geneva Grayson and Patricia Patterson; and six brothers, William Patterson, Lawrence Garfield Patterson, Charles Patterson, Samuel Patterson, Harry Patterson and Joseph Patterson.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a memorial service will follow.
