Paul Warren Pierce

Paul Warren Pierce, 55, of Lebanon, TN, made his grand entrance into the comfort and safety of God's arms on November 13, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He left this world exactly as he lived in it-surrounded by love, laughter, and people who adored him.

Paul was born on June 17, 1970, in Muncie, Indiana, to Clyde Lewis Pierce Jr. and Sharon Snyder Pierce. After high school, he decided the Air Force could use someone with his particular blend of hard work, kindness, and good-natured stubbornness. Over the next 28 years, he rose to the rank of Master Sergeant, earned 10 medals and 8 ribbons, and ensured those around him stayed composed, no matter the circumstances. His service was an accomplishment he carried with pride-and his stories from those years were legendary.

Never one to sit still, Paul retired from the military and immediately went back to school-first for welding, then for HVAC. He eventually found work he loved at the VA Hospital in Murfreesboro, fixing problems, improving days, and was known for maintaining calm and helping others do the same.

Paul loved the water in every possible form: boating, swimming, jet skis, rainstorms-if it splashed, he was in. He loved playing cards and board games and wasn't above a little friendly competition. BBQ tastings, traveling, helping others, and simply enjoying life were among his favorite pastimes. Everywhere he went, Paul was known as one of the nicest people you could ever meet-the kind of man who could brighten your day just by showing up… and he always showed up with a smile.

Paul leaves behind a family who loved him dearly: his sisters Tina (Tim) Rayburn and Amy (Rick) Irvin; nieces Amber (Brian) Moss, Deanna (Coleton) Jayne, and Taylor (Kevin) Vermillion; nephews Tyler Rayburn and Nick Irvin; great-nieces Kaylee Moss, Rosalie Vermillion, and Elizabeth Jayne; great-nephew Gage Moss; two children by choice-Makela and Nick Downey-whom he loved as his own; as well as his military family.

He was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Clyde Lewis Pierce Jr. and Sharon (Snyder) Pierce, along with many beloved extended family members who no doubt greeted him with open arms.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center and Alive Hospice for the incredible and compassionate care they gave Paul-care he was grateful for even on the toughest days.

Though Paul has gone on ahead of us, he leaves behind a lifetime of laughter, love, and stories that will be retold for generations. And knowing Paul, he's probably already scouting out the nearest body of water in heaven.

A visitation will be held November 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM–1:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM at Charlotte Heights Church of Christ, located at 6833 Old Charlotte Pike, Nashville, TN 37209.

The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
