John (Jack) Pierce passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2025, in Wilmington, Delaware.
Jack was born May 11, 1942, in Philadelphia, PA to Elizabeth (Hare) Pierce and John N. Pierce.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Joseph Pierce. He is survived by his sister Marie D'Andrea.
Jack loved spending time with his family, and he is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth (Charlie) Brown, Christine (Donald) Montgomery, and Lisa Locke. G-pop is survived by his grandchildren, Chad (Jose), Jeremy (Julia), Donnie (Becca), CJ (Jessie), Addie, Amber, Mollie, and Nick, and his great grandchildren, Aria, Koralee, Amelia, Myles, Kylee, and Charles. There is a long list of honorary grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jack was a union member of IAHFIAW Local 14 and proudly worked as an insulator until he retired in 1997. Jack never missed an opportunity to talk about the pipes that he insulated and jobs that he worked.
In his lifetime, Jack enjoyed fishing and spending time on his boat. He took pride in cooking for those he loved, with dishes including his jambalaya and famous cheese pie. Jack was the life of the party who loved telling stories and making people laugh.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 1:00pm at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805. The viewing will be immediately followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm.
