Barbara Ann Andreavich
Age 87 of New Castle
Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on July 2, 2025.
Barbara was born in Crisfield, Maryland, to the late Richard and Gladys (Evans) Hill. As a child her family moved to New Castle, Delaware. Barbara loved growing up in New Castle with her siblings. She was a proud 1956 graduate of William Penn High School. In 1958 Barbara married the love her life, Joseph Andreavich. Together they shared over 50 years of love and happiness, raising their family.
Barbara was a dedicated employee of the Bank of Delaware for her entire career. While there many co workers and company softball teammates became lifelong friends.
Barbara volunteered for many years with New Castle Little League and played a pivotal role in the formation of the girls' softball league. She greatly enjoyed all the years she spent coaching her daughters. Barbara enjoyed the outdoors and loved to be on the beach. But most of all, she was always happiest with her family. Some of her best memories are simply family gatherings she hosted at her home. The ultimate matriarch, everything Barbara did was for the betterment of her husband, children, and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Lori Cook and Pam Andreavich, and her brothers, Richard C. Hill Jr. and Ralph Vaugh Hill (Barbara).
She will be greatly missed by her siblings, Mary Shores and Jim Hill; her grandchildren, Thomas Cook (Nicole) and Morgan Cook; and her son-in-law, Thomas Cook. Barbara is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sandy Hill, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 101 W. 6th St., New Castle, DE 19720, on Friday, Jul 11 at 12:00 pm. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 am – 12:00pm. Interment will take place at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
