In Loving Memory of Frances Marie Pierce
1927 – 2025
Frances Marie Pierce, 98, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at Heritage Assisted Living on November 13, 2025.
Born in Lodgepole, Nebraska, to Oscar and Selma Humphrey, Frances was one of seven siblings, all now reunited in rest. During her early years she contributed to the war effort by working at the Sioux Ordnance Depot Fire & Guard Headquarters near Sidney, Nebraska. It was there that she met the love of her life, Robert (“Bob”) Pierce.
In 1962, Frances and Bob moved their family to Las Cruces, where she spent the rest of her life devoted to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Frances expressed her creativity through stained glass and ceramic art. She delighted family and friends with her exceptional baking. Her cherished desserts Cherry Delight, Banana Dope, and Piña Colada Cake were favorites at every gathering. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren and always had a special place in her heart for her “precious” pets.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Pierce (1991), and her grandson, Nathan Wilson (2007). She is survived by her children Roy Pierce (Sheri), Selma Wilson (Nate), and Rob Pierce (Stefanie); eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Kearney Cemetery in Kearney, Buffalo County, Nebraska, on November 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.
