Paul "Pauley" Race III was born Dec. 23, 1959, in Pittston to the late Esther and Paul Race II. He passed away June 30, 2025, in Umatilla, Fla., where he lived for over 30 years.
A devoted Catholic and beloved father and grandfather, Pauley is survived by his children, Paul Race IV and Christina McCandless; and his three grandchildren, Trenton, Shaelynn and Bradley.
Pauley worked as a meat cutter for most of his career, taking pride in his craft and the relationships he built. Outside of work, he found his greatest joy and happiness in fishing and spending time with his family and those he loved. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Golden Triangle #4335 for the past 18 years, serving as its president from 2013-2016 and its treasurer since 2023.
Known for his strength, humor and love for family, he leaves behind cherished memories and a lasting legacy. Details for a gathering to celebrate his life will be shared soon. May he rest in peace.

Paul was a classmate of mine for 8 years at St John the Baptist grade school and 4 years at St John´s High School. He always had a smile and enjoyed a good laugh. He stole the show in our Senior class play. My condolences to his family.
