Paul Robertson, Sr., a beloved father, stepfather, and friend, entered eternal rest at the age of 85, on August 3, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and love. He was born on May 14, 1940 in Nottoway County, Virginia, to the late Waverly Robertson and Lottie Watson Robertson. In addition to his parents, Paul Sr. was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters: Louis Robertson, Carnell Robertson, Oakie Robertson, Sr. (Hester), True Miller Thomas, Margaret Robertson, Annie Ruth Dyson, Eula Mae Curington, and Lucinda Robertson. Also preceding him in death was a dear and lifelong friend, Floyd Williams.

Paul, Sr. was educated in Nottoway County, attending Luther H. Foster High School. At an early age, he expressed love and commitment to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was baptized and joined Eleven Oaks Baptist Church in Crewe, Virginia.

After leaving high school, Paul, Sr. worked for many years as an orderly at Piedmont Geriatric Hospital in Burkeville, VA. He also served his country honorably as a member of the United States Army, serving in many places including Germany. Later, he continued in the healthcare profession as a private duty aide for the Carr family of Crewe, VA.

Paul, Sr. is survived by four children from his first marriage to Irma Dowdy Robertson, who also survives him: Paul Jr. (Patricia) of Chester, VA, Timothy (Terri) of Meherrin, VA, Melissia (Claude) of South Boston, VA, and Sharmaine of North Chesterfield, VA. In addition, he is survived by five grandchildren: Nichelle, Cameron, Charity, Brittney, and Deshaun, as well as a step-grandson, Devon. He also is survived by two great-grandchildren: Kassidy Robertson and Aubriella Robertson.

He was preceded in death by his second wife, Martha Craft Robertson, to whom he was married for 32 years. Through that marriage, he was a loving stepfather to Lloyd Theodore Craft, Shirley Chalkley (Johnny), Charlene Booker (Freddie), Martha Elaine Jefferson (Robin), the late Reginald Craft, Sr. (Edith), and the late Loretta Parrish (Danny). He also was a loving step-grandfather to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with his children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, , Paul Sr. leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will continue to cherish his memory.
