Paul Aaron Salinas Sr., a cherished father, devoted husband, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024, in his hometown of
Corpus Christi, Texas. Born on December 22, 1969, to Manuel and Catalina Salinas, Paul's life was a testament to his kindhearted nature and charismatic spirit.
Paul grew up in Corpus Christi and graduated from Roy Miller High School, where he developed lasting friendships and gave him his favorite motto "Once a Buc always a Buc!". He was well-known in the community, not only for his affable personality but also for his professional dedication. Paul proudly served Corpus Christi Utilities for 15 years and was recently recognized for his hard work with a promotion to foreman, a role in which he was excited to excel in. He loved his work buddies and cherished all the time he spent with them.
He was a man of diverse interests, all of which reflected his vibrant personality. An avid music enthusiast, Paul's taste ranged from classic rock to the blues, always eager to share a song that touched his soul. He had a passion for boxing that he loved sharing with his sons and friends, always rooting for the underdog and most always losing bets because of this. Paul's love for mobster movies was more than a pastime; it was a window into a world of intrigue and high stakes that fascinated him. When not engaged with his favorite films or music, or cheering on the Raiders, he loved spending time with his wife in the early mornings sharing a cup of coffee, playing with his dogs and planning the day. Those who knew Paul would use words like funny, friendly, and loving to describe him; he was indeed the kind of person who could light up a room with his humor and warmth. His laughter was infectious, his presence comforting, and his ability to forge friendships unmatchable. He made everyone he spoke to feel like the most important person in the world. When he gave you his attention it was magical.
Family was Paul's cornerstone; he found his greatest joy and pride in his children and the love he shared with his wife. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Catalina Salinas, who instilled in him the values of love and family that he carried forward. He leaves behind a legacy of love with his sons Paul Jr., Jeffrey, and Joaquin, stepson Erich Aaron, his beautiful granddaughter Danica, and his numerous cousins who will continue to honor his memory. The profound impact Paul had on his family is immeasurable and will continue to be felt for generations.
Paul's love story with his wife, Lorraine Salinas, was nothing short of extraordinary. Theirs was a once-in-a-lifetime love, blossoming with joy, laughter, respect, and profound conversations. The bond they shared illuminated their lives and served as an inspiration to all who knew them. Lorraine's life was beautifully interwoven with Paul's, and together they created countless cherished memories that will forever be held close to her heart.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Paul Aaron Salinas Sr. will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will live on through the family he adored, the friends he cherished, and the community he helped build. As we bid farewell to Paul, we celebrate a life that, though it ended too soon, was filled with laughter, love, and genuine connections. Paul's legacy of kindness, loyalty, and joviality will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Rest in peace, dear Paul, until we meet again.
