Paul E. Seguin passed away surrounded by the legacy of a life marked by service, dedication, and deep love for his family.
Paul was born in
Eveleth, Minnesota, to Arthur L. Seguin and Matilda A. (Kokal). After the passing of his mother, Paul and his brother, Denis, moved to St. Cloud, Minnesota, where they were raised by their father, grandmother, and three aunts. These early years shaped the strong sense of family and resilience that would define Paul's life.
He attended St. Mary's Grade School and Cathedral High School, laying the foundation for a life of discipline, achievement, and faith. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he trained in Signal School before being stationed in Europe, including in Karlsruhe, Germany. During his service, Paul distinguished himself through his skill and dedication, earning the opportunity to try out for-and ultimately compete on-the U.S. All Army Rifle and Pistol Team. He participated in competitions at Fort Benning, Georgia, representing the Army with honor. As his military service progressed, Paul was selected for special duty and transferred to Southeast Asia, where he helped establish and support sniper training programs.
Following the completion of his service, he returned home to St. Cloud, Minnesota, where he continued his education and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Paul later built a successful career as a pharmaceutical sales representative before transitioning into a role that reflected his passion for helping others-working as a vocational counselor. After earning his master's degree, he continued his work as a counselor and later as a consultant in workers' compensation, dedicating his professional life to supporting individuals in times of need.
He married Cheryl Buss, and together they shared 38 wonderful years of marriage. They eventually settled in
Venice, Florida, where Paul continued his career and later enjoyed retirement.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl; his son, Todd (Dianne); and his daughter, Dena Seguin. He was also a loving stepfather to Amy (Mike) Potthast and Sarah Buss. Paul was a proud grandfather to Abbie, Natalie, Olivia (Connor), and Isabelle. He is also survived by his brother, Denis (Rita) Seguin, and nephews David (Melissa) Seguin, Tom (Amanda) Seguin, and Philip Seguin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Matilda Seguin and his aunts, Verena, Evelyn and Dolores Seguin.
Paul was a man of many interests and lifelong commitments. He was a life member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans and also maintained membership in organizations such as the National Geographic Society. He had a deep appreciation for wildlife, the outdoors and a lifelong curiosity about the world around him.
Above all, Paul will be remembered for his service, his quiet strength, and his unwavering devotion to his faith and family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched, both personally and professionally.
