Harrisville – Paul H. Shippee, age 68, died peacefully on Thursday evening, September 19, 2024, at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility in Lowville, NY. He was born on October 14, 1955, in Gouverneur, NY to the late Howard Eugene & Marie J. (Gillett) Shippee.
In Celebration of Paul’s spirit and light, a service will be held at the Fowler Baptist Church, on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 11:00 am. The Burial will be at 10:00 am in the Harrisville Cemetery before the church service.
Paul graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1974, he was a maintenance man for the E.J. Noble Hospital in Gouverneur retiring after 36 years of dedicated service due to his illness. Paul married Susan Brothers in 1986 at the Fowler Baptist Church. Their faith and commitment to each other is a great testimony to many. As a faithful servant, he has actively supported and worshiped at the Fowler Baptist Church serving that congregation.
He is survived by his wife Susan (Brothers) Shippee of 38 loving years, his son, Michael Shippee, both of Harrisville; his siblings, Vern Shippee, Balmat, NY; a brother David and his wife Ruth (Hargrave) Shippee, Fort Edward; and Claude Shippee, Granville, NY. His grandchildren, Angelina and Aiden Shippee, both of Harrisville, and a daughter-in-law Stacey Shippee. His nieces and nephews, Anna Shippee and her husband Kameron Spaulding of Lenox Dale, MA, Hillary and her husband, Tyler Getty, of Kingsbury, and Abraham Shippee and his wife, Alexis (Willey) of Greenwich. His great-nephew, Rory (James) Getty, and his great-nieces, Collins (Claire) Getty and Elsie (James) Spaulding.
Paul was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He also enjoyed the outdoors. He loved his pets, his dog, Jacob, and his cats, Princess and Julianna, held special places in Paul’s heart.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Fowler Baptist Church.
