Paul Sienknecht
Paul Sienknecht, 95, passed away on February 2, 2026.
Born on Sept. 25, 1930, in Lincoln, Nebraska, one of five children to Ferdinand and Dora (Callsen) Sienknecht. After primary school, Paul earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nebraska.
Upon graduation, Paul joined the U.S. Army as an Ordinance Officer, Ft. Carson, CO. Following his service, Paul joined the Dow Chemical Company. His career spanned project management assignments in the US, Germany and The Netherlands for 39 years. While in Europe, he met a fellow Dow employee, and the love of his life, Johanna (Henny). They married in Rotterdam, The Netherlands in 1973. The two moved back to Midland, and in 1992, after 39 years with Dow, Paul retired.
Paul had many hobbies including, golf, curling, gardening, woodworking, wood carving, stone polishing, reading, traveling and jigsaw puzzles. Neil Diamond expressed his spirit in so many ways!
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Henny. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Dora, siblings Fritz, Kurt, Helmut and Elsie Carlson.
Funeral Services will be held on February 9th at 2 p.m. at Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St., Midland, MI 48640. The family will receive friends between 12 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Midland Open Door or the Salvation Army.
All of us at Ware Smith Woolever are honored that the Sienknecht Family has entrusted us with their loved one.
