Addie SIENKNECHT Obituary

March 11, 1923 – November 18, 2023

Minnie "Addie Mae" Sienknecht, 100 yrs of age, left this world wrapped in the arms of her Savior on November 18th, 2023, at Palouse Country Assisted Living. She lived independently in her own home until the age of 98. Addie Mae was born on March 11th, 1923, to John Taylor Brandon and Minnie Adeline Huffman Brandon. She spent her entire life living in and around the Tekoa area. As a youngster, she helped her dad and brother, J.T, on the family's dairy farm and delivered milk all over town. After graduating from Tekoa High School in 1941 and attending WSC for one year, she returned home to help on the dairy during WWII. She met Fred Sienknecht when he returned from the war, and they were married on June 13th, 1948. They farmed the family land for 32 yrs until Fred passed away in July 1980. She continued to manage the family farm and remained active in that until her later years. She and Fred had three children, Doug, Darlene, and Dale. Addie Mae was active in Eastern Star, and traveled around the state with Darlene, as a mother advisor for the Rainbow Girls. She held several jobs over the years. She worked as a nurse's aide at the Good Samaritan home in Fairfield, as a cook in the Tekoa Bowling Alley, and lastly as a check-out clerk at the IGA until her retirement at the age of 88. She knew everyone in town, and everyone knew her. Family was everything to her, and there was nothing she loved more than having them around to visit.

Addie Mae is survived by her children, Doug (Wendy), Darlene (Jim), and Dale (Vickie), and seven grandchildren Carrie (David), Katie (Pastor), Russ (Ashley), Amy (Sergio), Hannah (Kelvin), Emily (Jake), Chris (Lacey), and 13 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2, at 11:00 AM, at Latah Bible Church, 411 N. Pine St., Latah, WA.

Memorial contributions in Addie Mae's honor may be sent to the Tekoa Community Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 597, Tekoa, WA 99033 or Latah Bible Church at the above address.

Another one of Tekoa's elders has passed on. What a happy person Addie Mae was. We will always remember her smile and positive attitude. Bless you.

I remember as a child I needed to use the water faucet in her yard. She told me it was out yonder. I never did find out yonder and was too shy to ask her again. That memory still make me smile. A dear dear lady.
