Paul Malcolm "Skippy" Simmons, age 81, of Candor passed away on February 14, 2026, at his home.
Mr. Simmons was born on August 27, 1944, in Richmond County to William and Bertie Bowman Simmons. Paul worked for many years on the pit crews of Benny Parsons, Cale Yarborough and Tim Richmond.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Judith Blue Simmons, brothers Billy Simmons, Foye Simmons, RG Simmons, Bobby Simmons and Hassell Simmons; sisters Maylene East, Maureen Hall, Nancy McCormick, Sara Greene and Betty Ruth Simmons.
He is survived by his daughter Teresa Cagle of Candor, grandson Josh Cagle (Brooke) of Asheboro and brother Carlo Simmons.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Phillips Funeral Home from 5:00-6:00 pm
