Paul Timothy Sinner, also known as "Paulie," who often referred to himself as "Tired and Grumpy," passed away unexpectedly, but of natural causes, on Nov. 22, 2025. He was born Feb. 9, 1970, to Jeffrey and Hope (Freehling) Sinner in South Bend, Ind.
Paul was an honest soul with a heart of gold. With a Bud Light in hand and Crown Royal Apple close by, he often greeted others with a warm hug and a smart remark. A Capri-Sun always in tow for the grandkids alongside the giving heart of hospitality to all who entered his presence. A chair, a drink, or a common dad joke. He covered all bases never making anyone feel less than "at home.'
Growing up as the middle sibling to Jason and Jennifer. They often spent time outdoors causing mischief. He was rich in this life due to the family he was born into, created and chose. The love for his entire family was undeniable and lit up his world.
Paul was a graduate of Niles High School in the Class of '88, where he met his core group of friends that maintained a presence throughout the duration of his life. After graduation, he went on to pursue a career as a machinist/quality specialist.
As the fireworks lit up the sky on the Fourth of July in 2024, so did the love between Paul and Julie. They began their lives as "Sinners" in a wonderful at-home, barefoot, backyard ceremony alongside their most treasured loved ones. A day that is remembered by many as the best wedding ever.
In his daily life, you could often find Paul in the "apartment," especially on Saturdays in the fall yelling "GO BLUE" alongside his father-in-law Johnny. A day of shooting, a bonfire, a trip up north or a fishing pole in hand were simple pleasures that brought him great joy. Paul was a family man in the truest sense, and his departure leaves a void that can never be filled. Yet, his legacy of love, strength, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all he touched.
He is survived by his loving wife, Julie (Reagan) Sinner; his parents: Jeffrey and Hope Sinner; father-in-law, Johnny Bagwell; brother, Jason Sinner (Cassandra Zylstra); sister, Jennifer Sinner; his children: Alexander (Chloe) Sinner, Brooke (Caleb) Cook and Izabella Sinner; stepchildren: Alexis (Ward) Pollock, Anthony (Allison) Parris, Abby (Daniel) Cantu, Garrett Williams and Carter Williams, and his grandchildren: Jackson, Sutton, Remington, Ranger and Rosie, as well as two more on the way. Each will carry forward his spirit, ensuring that Paul's generous heart and infectious laugh will continue to echo through the stories they share and the memories they cherish. Being a family means you will love and be loved for the rest of your life no matter what.
As the tradition stands, we will be wearing maize and blue in Paul's memory at his celebration of life from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at the F.O.E. #2094, 34 Sycamore St., Niles, while Michigan takes on OSU.
Memorial contributions may be made in Paul's honor to: National Trappers Association Friends of the NRA F.O.E. #2094.
