Paul William Smith

Paul William Smith, age 82, loving husband of Etta Doolin Smith, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Paul was born in Lexington, Kentucky, on February 9, 1943, to the late Lawrence B. Smith and Flossie Humphrey Smith. Paul was an OTR truck driver who worked for Overnight and Stix Transportation and was a United States Veteran serving in the Army. Survivors include three daughters, Janet Renee Brown, Paula Gayle Smith, and Kimberly Lynn Kendall, and her husband, Devin, grandchildren, Joshua Paul (Renee) Gibbs, Sean Robert Brown, Lane Garrett (Jasmine) Smith, Michael Darren (Lauren) Mosher, Matthew Robert (Whitney) Mosher, Alexandria Nicole (Kelton) Allen, Brooke Renee (Dylan Ambrose) Parker, and eight great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include two sisters, Ruby Etta Lewis and Sarah Katherine Lewis, and her husband, T.J.. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Mattingly and Henry Pete Smith, and a sister, Janette Mattingly. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor John Ritchie and Pastor Matthew Atwood officiating. The burial will follow at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens, with Lane Smith, Michael Mosher, Matthew Mosher, Sean Brown, Bob Doolin, and Kelton Allen serving as bearers.
