Paul Vernon Smith Jr.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Vernon Smith, Jr. Also known as "Paul and that's all."
Paul went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the age of 54. Born on July 17, 1971, in Beaufort, South Carolina, Paul was the beloved son to Sandra Sue Smith and Paul Vernon Smith, Sr., and a devoted father to his daughter, Amanda Nicole Smith.
Paul proudly dedicated his professional life to caring for others as a Certified Medical Technician, CNA. His compassion for others was well known because he prioritized the wellbeing of all his patients, took the time to get to know them and would encouraged them to never give up.
Paul was also known for his unconditional love of his family, his big heart for animals, especially his boxer, Vernon, and his passion for collectibles. He enjoyed sharing his life adventures, and memorabilia from his favorite sports, music, idols, and franchises like, Star Trek and Star Wars. He would share his passion with anyone who would listen. It was in those moments of happiness that his eyes would light up and that light is something those closest to him will forever cherish. And that my friends, is Paul and that's all.
Paul is survived by his beloved daughter, Amanda Smith (Roland); his best friend, Dean Brazell, who he thought of as a brother and his wife, Amanda Brazell.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest with a funeral service to follow at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel.
