Paul Steinmeyer was as irascible as he was kindhearted. He was generous with his time, almost to a fault. Knowledgeable, argumentative, stubborn, funny, and thoughtful. He fixed what was wrong for everyone who asked. Paul was born on May 10, 1964 and died on October 31, 2024 after a short battle with an aggressive cancer. He would have enjoyed the symbolism of departing on the Day of the Dead eve. Paul loved all animals; he was devoted to caring for his cats and the cats that his sister, Barb, left behind when she died nine years ago. Above all Paul was a humanist, deeply concerned with the welfare of all animals and our moral obligation to treat them with compassion.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Curly and Irene Steinmeyer; his sister, Barb; and his brothers, Tom and Michael. He is survived by his siblings, Joe, Mary, and Kathy; and his friend, Liz.
