Paul Stevens was born on October 26, 1941, in Harlem, NY. He was the son of the late Maybell Stevens and Paul Thornton, Jr. He met his late wife, Fannie J. Stevens, in Paterson, NJ, in 1958. They were married on August 17, 1963, and from this union, five beautiful children were born.
In 1997, Paul was grateful to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for saving him and giving him a new life. He served as a faithful servant at Christ Sent Ministries for 16 years and was truly loved by his church family.
In 2013, he relocated to Lithonia, GA.
Paul worked hard to provide for his family. He was a devoted husband who loved his wife dearly and a protective father who always put his children first. A caring and generous man, he was always willing to help-not just his family members this also included all those who were around him.
There are no words to express the love we have for you, Pop. What a blessing it is to have such priceless memories of laughter and joy growing up with you as our father. You will always be remembered and truly missed by all whose lives you deeply touched.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie J. Stevens, and his son, Paul Stevens, Jr.
He leaves to cherish wonderful memories his daughters, Carribell (Stevens) Bailey and Minister Paulette Stevens; his sons, Johnnie Stevens and Joseph Stevens; nieces, Pamela Middleton Mann, Stephanie Stewart, Tanya Brown and Cheryl Hodge; nephews, Gregory Middleton, Billy and Larry; sister-in-law, Phoeby (Marshall) McClinton; son-in-law, Douglas T. Bailey; daughter-in-law, Quatia Stevens; granddaughters, Chanel D. Stevens, Charee M. Stevens, Chassity Morgan, Chyna Morgan, Cyanna Imani Stevens, Sameeha Kamilah Stevens, Inaaya Aseelah Stevens, grandsons, Tyshawn Bailey, Richard Timothy Faulk III, Yusuf Nasir Stevens, Elijah Aziz Stevens; granddaughters, Tyonne Bailey, Chloe Marie Washington, Camille Joni Washington; great grandsons, Tyshawn Bailey, Jr., Tyree Bailey, Janus Aiden Faulk, Jacob Charming Faulk; very close family friend, brother relationship, Mr. Willie (his wife Mrs. Dorothy) Sumter. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and neighbors. Special thanks to Gerald and Jacqueline Davis, Sandra Lee, and Myeisha Zuniga-Furlow
