Paul William Stoeger died peacefully at home on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Paul was born on May 25, 1949, to the late Charles and Ruth (Ross) Stoeger and raised in Appleton, attended Appleton High School graduating with the Class of 1967. Three days after graduation, Paul started work at Appleton Papers. After 42 years at the mill, Paul retired to camping, gardening, tinkering and reading. Paul's patience and intelligence made him a wonderful teacher and a person of vast knowledge.
Paul was a kind man whose opinions were valued. He enjoyed a lively debate and could express himself effectively. Paul had a dry sense of humor-he kept you listening. Paul had a significant and special connection to each of his grandchildren. He was a very present father and grandfather. He could always be counted upon.
Paul loved his dogs and grand dogs. He deeply cared for and loved his furry companions. He is survived by his dogs Ruby and Reacher.
Paul is further survived by his wife, Vickie (Vaubel) Stoeger; children, Julia and husband Brian, Jennifer and husband Brent, Jason and wife Tessa, James and wife Fran, Joey Lynn, Andrew and wife Marcy; grandchildren, Paul, Ahnah, Oliver, Emmett, Amber, Adam, Austin, Dominic, Damon, Jazzmine, Dalton, Gretchen, Lucas, Nathaniel, Ethan, Jackson, Winnie; bonus grandchildren, Weston, Bella, Brynlee; 11 great-grandchildren with one on the way and sister, Barbara (Robert) Frees.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Duaine and mother-in-law, Ethel-Ethel-Ethel.
A Celebration of Paul's Life will be on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 3-8 p.m. in the pavilion at Telulah Park, 1300 E. Newberry St in Appleton, WI. Paul's final resting place will be Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
Paul's family wants to send a special thank you to neighbors, Lucas and Heather for always being there for Paul, when it meant the most.
