Paul E. Sullivan passed away February 13, 2024, after a short illness. He was 68 years old.
He was the husband of Perri (Koplen) Sullivan and a long-time resident of Myrtle Beach, South
Carolina.
Paul was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, the son of the late Philip F. and Theresa (Connolly)
Sullivan. He grew up in Canton and Needham, Massachusetts, graduating from Needham High
School and then attending University of Massachusetts.
Paul was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, metal detecting, and playing chess, pastimes
he especially enjoyed sharing with his grandson Patrick. He also enjoyed listening to music of all
genres, as well as making and selling jewelry. For decades, he worked as a long-haul truck
driver, most recently with Clark Transfer Company. Paul had a great creative spark and
entrepreneurial spirit. He was trained as a jeweler and ran several small businesses over the
years, including selling stamps and coins. In his younger years, Paul loved to play cards with his
friends and enjoyed rebuilding cars.
Paul deeply loved his family and his two furry companions, Tater and Huck. In addition to his
dear wife, Perri, he leaves behind his daughters, Linnette Sullivan of Canton and Shanna
Sullivan of Worcester, Massachusetts; a son, Tim Rice (Barbie) of Medway, Massachusetts; his
stepson, Seth Mathlery (Lauren); three grandchildren, Patrick, Anna, and Dan; his brothers,
Philip (Mary) of West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, and Brian (Lexa) of Norwood,
Massachusetts; his cousin, Van Connolly, of Portland, Oregon; and his father-in-law, Julian
Koplen. He also leaves behind many nephews and nieces.
Donations in Paul's memory may be made to St. Jude's Hospital.

Sending my sympathies to Perri and the rest of his family. From the first time I met "Sully" through my husband, Peter, I was taken with this gentle giant. He always wanted to tKe our little Cashew dog on the road with him. He named her "Truck Dog" and said she would fit just fine in his cab. I can´t describe how shocked I was about his passing....and knew him to be a good hearted, caring friend. So berry sorry, Perri. Godspeed, Sully. You are missed.
