Paul Edward Thomas, 73, of Crooksville died peacefully in the evening hours of Thursday, November 28, 2024, at Genesis Morrison House following a battle with cancer.
He was born on December 28, 1950, in Jasonville, Indiana to his parents, the late Paul and Betty (Mastelier) Thomas.
Paul spent most of his life as a working man, having spent more than 20 years with Gold Battery and then later retiring from Longaberger Basket Company where he spent 24 years as a handle maker. In his free time, Paul was a heck of a car mechanic, spending hours outside working on the vehicles of family and friends. Above all else, Paul was a family man, spending his time among family was his favorite thing and greatest accomplishment.
Left behind to mourn his death are his wife of 55 years, Connie (Swendryck) Thomas; his children, Nancy (Bill) Snyder and Paul (Marla) Thomas; his two sisters and one brother; as well as his grandchildren, Codie Thomas, Nathan Thomas, Lexi Thomas, Kaylee Vanoster, Audrey (Dylan) McMannis, Blake Snyder and Austin (Kelsi) Snyder and hisgreat-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kiersten, Adelyn, Emmalyn, Slade, Liam, Sage, Dawson and Daniel. Paul is also survived by a whole host of in-laws, Delilah (Steve) Beach, Betty (Carl) Ray, Donna Moore, Mark Beach and Steve (Deb) Swendryck.
In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Thomas; his grandson, Brandon Chevalier-Thomas, his sister-in-law, Rella Beach; his stepbrother, Thomas Gheen and his brother-in-law, James Swendryck.
Friends are welcome to pay their final respects from 12 noon-1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the Goebel Funeral Home, 36 N. Buckeye St., Crooksville. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Don Harris officiating. Paul will then be laid to rest in Iliff Cemetery.
