Paul was born in Topeka, Kansas on February 26, 1956, the son of Clayton and Ida Olson Thomas. He attended Dover Grade School and graduated from Mission Valley High School. On February 12, 1977, Paul married Joy Morris enjoying 49 years together.
Paul worked various construction and ag jobs, most recently for Thomas Farms. He was a member of the Dover Masonic Lodge 138.
Paul loved his family and was especially proud of his grandkids!
Survivors include Paul's wife, Joy Thomas; sons, Allan Thomas (Kristi) and Rick Thomas (Annie); his daughter, Melissa Schlegel; grandchildren, Alex (Danyell), Niki, Debbie, Shawn, Robert and Dylan; great-grandchildren, Waylon, Cheyenne and Hudson; siblings, Ron Schutter (Joan), Allana Barngrover, Connie Miller and Everette Thomas (Judy).
Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Allan Schutter and sister, Kay Sanneman.
Family will greet friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at the Auburn Community Center. Paul's funeral service will be Monday, at 10:30 a.m. at the Auburn Community Center. Burial will follow in Dover Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Auburn Community Center, sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.
