Paul Delane Tolbert

Paul Delane Tolbert, age 78 of Hinton, WV passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
Born in Hotchkiss, WV on February 26, 1946, he was the son of the late Claude S. and Myrtle Townsend Tolbert.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War as a Security Forces Sergeant. Before retiring, he worked as a steel worker and coal miner. Paul was a talented musician and crafted woodworker. He spent a lot of his spare time farming and gardening and enjoyed playing cards and bingo. He found great joy sitting on his front porch with family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Connie Tolbert and brother, Jimmy Howard Tolbert.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Ron D. Tolbert of Hinton, WV and Robert D. Tolbert (Deanna) of Murfreesboro, TN; stepson, Charlie Merriam (Julie) and their three children of Pearisburg, VA; stepdaughters, Laura Richmond of Murfreesboro, TN, Jerri Richmond of Greenville, WV, and Carla Merriam of Hinton, WV; brother, John H. Tolbert (Linda) of Madams Creek; sister, Anna Alice Tolbert Graham of Elk Knob; five grandchildren, Caray, Dawson, Liam, Maddox, and Alec Tolbert; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family has honored Paul's request for cremation services. A celebration of his life will be scheduled in the Spring of 2025.
