Phillip Tolbert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home - Ft. Oglethorpe Chapel on Feb. 13, 2026.
Phillip McKinley Tolbert, age 63, of Rossville, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026. He was born in Fort Oglethorpe to the late Jerry Tolbert and Gennie Lewis Neal and was a lifelong resident of the Fort Oglethorpe area. Phillip was of the Baptist faith.

A skilled handyman by trade, Phillip was self-employed for more than 20 years. He took great pride in his work and was known for his dependability, craftsmanship, and willingness to help others. Above all, he was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, Phillip was preceded in death by his brothers, Tony Tolbert and Duane Tolbert.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Bailey Tolbert and Taylor Tolbert; his sister, Renee Tolbert Smith; his beloved grandchildren, Addison and Collins; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor David Dowden officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday.

Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home – Fort Oglethorpe Chapel.

Phillip is uncle to my daughters best friend, Mandi, and he, like so many of her family, loved my child and treated her as one of them. She adored her "Uncle Phillip" and will miss him greatly
