In 1964, he married the love of his life, Mary Worley Arnold, and settled back in Chattanooga. After his return to Chattanooga, he consistently competed in local recreational sports leagues for basketball, flag football and softball. Employment over the years included Mueller Co., St. Paul's In-As-Much Mission in
Rossville, GA and then he took an opportunity at Lake Tansi Village in Crossville, Tennessee, relocating his family in 1974. He finished his 30-year career as Resort Recreation Director at Lake Tansi in 2004.

He enjoyed life to the fullest, never met a stranger and certainly wasn't afraid to entertain a room full of people. His kind spirit spilled over to hundreds of young adults he supervised in his 30-year career at Lake Tansi. He also volunteered throughout the community for various events and charities.
