The Rev. Paul D. Twelves, a resident of Laurelmead, in Providence, died after a brief illness. Paul is survived by his wife, Joy, also of Laurelmead, and by two children, Mark, of Natick, MA; and Betsy, of Dunbar, Scotland. He has two grandchildren, Zachary, of New Zealand, and Casey, of Scotland. He is pre-deceased by a son Steve and a daughter Sarah.
Paul was ordained an Episcopal priest in 1954. He served as rector of All Saints' Church, Chelmsford, MA, for 20 years, and as rector of St. Peter's Church, Glenside, PA, for 11 years. He then began a nine year interim ministry in churches in transition between rectors. Churches served during this period are St. Alban's, Syracuse, NY; St. Stephen's, Columbus, OH; St. George's, Dayton, OH; St. John's, Lynchburg, VA; St. Paul's, Kansas City, MO; St. Matthew's, Bedford, NY; and Grace Church, Amherst, MA. After retirement he did part-time interim ministry in Rhode Island, serving St. Alban's, Centerdale; St. Martin's, Providence; St. Paul's, Portsmouth, Church of the Messiah, Providence, and St. Michael's, Bristol. He also served as a consultant to congregations in transition.
During Paul and Joy's residence at North Farm, a 300 unit condominium in Bristol, RI, he served as president of the Board of Governors for 11 years.
A memorial service will be held at a time to be determined at All Saints Church in Chelmsford, MA. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Planned Parenthood or checks can be made out to Planned Parenthood Federation of America and mailed to P.O. Box 97166, Washington DC, 20090.

I know Paul from North Farm and had the pleasure of spending time with him at some of the events. When I moved to North Farm, Paul was president of our association, leading the board through thick and thin. I thank home for his volunteering and caring!
