Paul Richard Van Nus, age 68, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away October 16, 2022. Paul was born to Barbara Smith Van Nus and the late John Van Nus Jr. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on December 06, 1953. Paul served his country with the United States Navy. He enjoyed deep sea fishing and going to the beach. He was kind hearted, giving and funny. If you were down and out he would make you laugh, help you endure and gave the best hugs according to his children. Paul was a family man but above all he loved God. He will be deeply missed. Paul is preceded in death by his father John "Jack" Van Nus. He is survived by his mother; Barbara Van Nus; his daughters; Christine (Angel Roque) Van Nus and Jessica (Jake) Ditmore; step-daughter Donna McClusky; former wife, Deborah Van Nus; brother, John Van Nus III; sisters, Donna (David) Barrett and Katie (Ed) Sanders; nieces; Laura Willis, Susie Rogers, and Audrey Burris; and nephew John Van Nus IV along with a several grandnieces and grandnephews, three grandchildren and extended family and friends. Memorial Service: Friday, October 28, 2022 at 2:00 at McConnell Memorial Baptist Church. Banister-Cooper Funeral Home is in charge of services for Paul Richard Van Nus. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Banister-Cooper Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
