Paul John Vanden Boogard, age 64 of Kimberly, WI passed away on September 18, 2025. He was born to Joseph and Mary Vanden Boogard on May 21, 1961 in Kaukauna, WI. After graduating from high school, he had several loves throughout his life and raised two children with them before finding his last and most true love, Jim VanDeHey. They were together for 18 wonderful years. After getting his Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, he was best known for working as a Warehouse and Logistics Manager, converting paper products into cans for various companies.
Paul was a real renaissance man of the modern age and a true artist with a very diverse portfolio. He enjoyed the musical theatre and was a playwright of his own, not only writing a play, but creating the music for it as well. He published two collections of poetry and two novels. Paul taught himself drums, bass guitar, piano, and several other instruments along his journey in life. He enjoyed gardening and created a paradise in his backyard, but more recently has been painting beautiful acrylic paintings. You could often find Paul out on the town with his partner, Jim, whom you might’ve mistaken for his brother, enjoying a good meal or exploring the farmer’s market. More than anything, though, Paul loved his family and cherished every moment he spent with his partner, children, and stepchild.
Paul will be deeply missed by his partner, Jim; his children, Josh (Katie) and Uly (Kari); his step-daughter, Amanda (Brandon); his step-grandchildren, Harper and Hunter; Jim’s kids, Tim (Pam), Tracy (Jim); his siblings, Tricia (Alan), Trudy (Dave), Mark (Sue), Rocky (Mary), Anne, and Dan (Deedee); his ex-wife and the mother of his children, Susan; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended relatives and friends, as well as Jim’s great-granddaughter, Kanzen, who held a special place in Paul’s heart.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jim.
In respect to Paul’s wishes, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to an ALS organization of your choice or to ThedaCare At Home Hospice in honor of Paul.
Paul’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses, doctors, and other supporting staff at ThedaCare At Home Hospice for their care, dedication, and expertise shown to Paul during his time of need.
