Funeral services for Paul Bowen Vardeman, 94, will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Airline Baptist Church, 4007 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Reverend Harrell Shelton.
Paul’s career was marked by compassion and service. He worked tirelessly for the state of Louisiana in foster care and child protective services, where he touched the lives of many vulnerable individuals. His dedication extended to working with the blind community, where he made a meaningful impact through his efforts.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Paul found fulfillment in sharing his faith and knowledge as a Sunday school teacher for many years. His passion for teaching and guiding others was evident in the way he spoke about God and his family with love and sincerity.
Educationally accomplished, Paul held a bachelor’s degree in political science from Louisiana Tech University and a graduate certificate in social work from Louisiana State University. During the Korean War, Paul served his country honorably as a military policeman in Japan as part of the United States Army. His service was a testament to his sense of duty and willingness to protect others.
Paul was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce Vardeman. He is survived by his sons, Timothy Vardeman, and John Vardeman and wife, Terri; grandchildren, Kristina, Mark, Bowen, David and Lindon; great-grandchildren, Alister and Olyvia.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Airline Baptist Church, 4007 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana.
Due to the weather and power outages, the service will be held at 11:30 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will also be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home at the regularly scheduled time.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
