Paul F. Vertesch

Paul F. Vertesch, age 88, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, January 31, 2026, at The Springs of Richmond.

Born August 23, 1937, in South Bend, Indiana, to Joesph and Rose Horvath Vertesch, Paul lived in this community most of his life. He was a graduate of South Bend Riley High School and received his undergraduate and law degrees from Indiana University. Paul worked as a lawyer in Richmond for more than 50 years. He served as former president of the Wayne County Bar Association and served as a temporary Judge on occasion. Paul was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army where he achieved the rank of First Lieutenant. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Paul shot his last deer at the age of 87. Paul's family was his life. He was an all-star father and was so very proud of his children's and grandchildren's accomplishments.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Janet Price Vertesch; children, Mike Vertesch, Kevin Vertesch, Chris Vertesch, Jana Drew and Jeff (Portia) Drew; grandchildren, Lauren, Austin, Noah, Mikenzie (Bronc); great grandchildren, Ty and Elsie; sister, Rosemary (Paul) Deignan; brother, Scott (Karen) Vertesch; nieces; nephews; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial visitation for Paul F. Vertesch will be from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2026, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2026, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Bell officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
