Paul Vigneault Obituary

Paul A. Vigneault Jr., age 61 sadly was found deceased at his home in Southington on July 1st, 2023, after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Paul was born and grew up in Southington. He was the son of Maria Rodriguez Vigneault and the late Paul A. Vigneault Sr. (Buddy).

Paul graduated from Southington High School and went to work for Jay Sons Screw Machine Products in Plantsville, then worked for Stop n' Shop for 40 years.

While Paul passed on too soon, he was able to enjoy his retirement which began in 2021. Besides his mother Paul is also survived by his sister: Donna (Husband Gary) Brayfield, niece: Cassondra Marie Brayfield, and nephews: Logan Paul, and Jordan Timothy Brayfield as well as his ex-wife: Joanne Markevich.

Paul was kind and compassionate with a great witty, sense of humor and a devilish laugh. In his youth, Paul was known for his love of music and could be found playing rock and roll on his bass guitar with his friends. He also was proud to be able to perform at the Southington's Battle of the Bands, and attended many musical events and parties back in the day. Later in life, he enjoyed painting, attending to his 4 beautiful saltwater fish tanks, brook fishing and grilling. A special thank you to Paul's traveling Buddies: Best friends Jeff Kempton and Chris Tiscione as well as Joanne Markevich.

Besides his father Paul was also predeceased by his only child, Paul Vigneault III (PJ) who passed tragically 10 years ago at the age of 21 and his Mother- in-law Vicky Markevich.

Also, who could forget his loving and dedicated companion his Beagle Jody.

Paul was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who will without a doubt, be missed and mourned by all who knew him.

A private funeral service will be held at the discretion of the Family.

8/30/24. It has already been one year since we lost Paul. Not a day goes by when I don´t think of him. Although Paul and I were divorced after 11 years of marriage, he became my best friend and my "rock" after we lost our son PJ. We shared the horrible pain of losing a child and only he knew how I felt. I miss Paul so much. My only consolation is knowing that he has been reunited with PJ, Grampie, and Jody. Love & miss you Paul. Rest in peace.
Love,
Joanna

I was so sorry to hear about Paul's passing. I knew Paul well over 35 years ago when he was the bakery manager of a grocery store. We kept in touch for many years and would always wish each other a happy birthday and shared our grief, both having lost our sons. I will never forget you Paul. Rest peacefully my dear friend!

Paul was such a kind soul! Whenever I ran into him, he always had time to catch up. I have fond memories of our younger days when he was in the band with my brother Chris. We stayed in touch over the years, and I will miss him dearly. To his family, I´m truly sorry for your loss.
