Paul Warner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Funeral Alternatives Group - Lewiston on Jan. 2, 2026.
Paul Frederick Warner, Sr. (77) of Lewiston, Maine passed away on December 27 in his home with his family by his side. He had been on home hospice through Togus V.A. for a few months. His wife speaks very highly of the hospice staff, especially his regular caregivers Wendy and Alex. Irene's brother, Roland was also a huge support to Paul.

He was born in Bangor, Maine; the son of Ansel Warner and the late Catherine Parent.

He attended Lewiston schools and obtained his GED. He entered the army as a teenager and served his country overseas before being honorably discharged. He then went to trade school for carpentry and became proficient in this skill, ultimately owning his own business. He built several houses over the years, many of which he lived in with his family. One endeavor he was particularly proud of was renovating and running a convenience store with his wife near the Auburn airport. He later acquired his home inspection certification and started a home inspection business.

Paul greatly loved his family and made spending time with them a priority. He also loved bowling, playing pool, and all things golf. He spent many years on bowling and golf leagues with family and friends. Most recently he was a member of the Pastime Club where he enjoyed playing pool and cribbage. Paul also maintained many of his childhood friendships throughout his adulthood. He was a member of East Auburn Baptist Church for over 35 years and volunteered his time there in a variety of ways.

Paul was a supportive presence for so many. He was kind, compassionate, hard working, and extremely generous, frequently helping out those in need. He will be greatly missed.

Paul is survived by his wife, Irene Warner of 15 years and her daughters Jen Freve, Katie Hamby, and Heather Hamby.

He is predeceased by his wife Diane Warner of 35 years, and is survived by their five children Brian Warner, Kevin Warner and wife Sue, Paul Warner, Junior; Scot Warner and wife Laurianne, and Heidi Warner. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Paul's Celebration of Life will be held at East Auburn Baptist church on January 7 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Paul's honor to Togus, V.A.
