Paul Houston Webb passed away peacefully in Charlotte, NC on Thursday, November 16, 2023 while surrounded by his loving family.
Paul was a veteran of the Army, serving three tours with honor and distinction. His commitment to his fellow servicemen and women extended beyond his active duty, as he was a proud member of the American Legion Post #262. His service to his country was a testament to his courage and resilience, qualities that he carried with him throughout his life. He was also a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Jefferson, SC.
In his professional life, Paul was a beloved figure at Harris Teeter, where he worked as a butcher for over 15 years. His coworkers remember him as a dedicated and hardworking individual who always had a smile on his face. His culinary skills also shone through in his role as a cook at Beth's Country Kitchen, where his delicious meals brought joy to many. Paul's interests were as varied as they were engaging. He was an avid Bingo player, a pastime that brought him much joy and countless friendships.
He is survived by his loving wife, Doris Smith Webb of Pageland, SC; his son, Paul Houston Webb, Jr., his daughters, Erma Jean Stacks of Charlotte, NC, and Rheta Stacks of Mount Holly, NC, and his step-daughter, Tessie Carpenter of Albemarle, NC. Paul was a cherished grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, and his legacy lives on in the numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who adored him. He was predeceased by his son, Henry Arthur Webb, and leaves behind five brothers and one sister.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Baumgartner Funeral Home (www.baumgartnerfh.com) of Pageland, SC.
