Paula Ruth Beitz, age 102 years, of Brownsville was called home to be with the Lord on December 7, 2025, at Hope Health and Rehab in Lomira.
Paula was born on March 28, 1923, in Lomira to Andrew and Adela Spielman. She was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lomira and was currently a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Brownsville.
Paula graduated from Lomira High School in 1940 after which she attended Fond du Lac Commercial College which prepared her to do office work in West Bend and Kenosha. On October 8, 1944, she married Lester H. Beitz at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lomira. For most of the couples’ married life, Paula assisted with the dairy farming operations as she and Lester raised four children. In later years of employment, Paula worked at Midwest Cattle Auction in Lomira.
Paula was an avid sports lover. In her 20s she was a member of an all-girl basketball team in Fond du Lac. She bowled in the Brownsville bowling leagues into her 80s. She enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s games, concerts and other school events. Her television was often tuned to any sporting event that might be on the screen. She loved feeding the hummingbirds and solving the daily cryptoquote puzzle.
Those Paula leaves behind to cherish her memory include her four children, Carla Wifler, Andrea (August) Luedtke, Gwen Almond, and Todd Beitz; six grandchildren, Erin (Xavier) Meilhon, Matthew (Angela) Wifler, Erika (Michael) Gergits, Kristin (Matthew) Westphal, Jonathan (Lisa) Luedtke, and Robert (Desiree) Frank; thirteen great-grandchildren, Emeric Meilhon, Quentin Meilhon, Sebastien Meilhon, Benjamin Wifler, Ellinore Wifler, Amelia Wifler, Jensen (Reney) Bagnall, Noah (Alyssa) Westphal, Eva (fiancé Trevor Ramthun) Westphal, Colton Luedtke, Caleb Rickert, Quincy Frank, Finely Frank; and two great-great-granddaughters, Kevi Bagnall and Kinsley Westphal. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Paula was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; sons-in-law, Raymond Wifler and Jerry Almond; two grandchildren, Kelly Wifler and Kalen Luedtke; two brothers, Gerhard (June) Spielman and Verner (Doris) Spielman; brothers-in-law, Vernon Beitz and Ruben Beitz; and sister-in-law, Bernice (Lester) Kietzer.
A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
Memorials in Paula’s name can be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Brownsville, Wisconsin.
