Paula Cooey

Paula past away in Regions Hospital St.Paul MN in the presence of her husband Philip. She was a writer, teacher, poet, wife and mother. Dr. Cooey retired from the Margaret Weyerhaeuser Harmon Professor of Religion Chair at Macalester College. Before that she taught at Trinity University. She was a graduate of Harvard University, Harvard Divinity School, University of Georgia, Osborn and Marietta High Schools. Paula's vision for Willing the Good will be carried on by her colleagues, students, friends, books, articles and poems. She is survived by her husband Phil, her son Benjamin, and her grand children, Miranda and Beckett. Also by her sister Starr (and David) and their child Johnathan, and her Brother Billy (and Valerie) and his children Meghan and Heath and many other loving family, friends, former students and members of her church. A Celebration of the Resurrection of Paula will be at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 60 N Kent Street St Paul MN 55102 on March 30, 2023 at 1:00p.m. Reception after.
