Paula Derrick Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 26, 2007.
The Lord came to Paula and said You fought a long and hard battle but now its time to go and walk with me. On the way we must stop and write in a book and tell others how long and hard you fought for all to see, for what you did is one for the books. Paula Parrish Derrick was born June 9, 1945 to the late Paul and Edna Parrish. The Lord came and got his angel on October 26, 2007. She was preceded in death by one sister, Sue Hultsman of Covina. CA. She resided in North Little Rock her whole life, graduating from NLRHS in 1963. She married Harley Derrick on May 30, 1964. Soon after they started raising a family. She was blessed to be a stay-at-home mom. Her greatest joy was raising her two daughters, Traci and Shannon. She loved decorating and cooking great meals for her family on holidays. She was an active member of Levy PTA, where she was President for two years and received a lifetime pin. After 12 years of illness the Lord came to her. She is survived by her husband of 43 years and caregiver, Harley Derrick, daughters and caregivers, Traci Derrick and Shannon Derrick, (Alvertis Murry), three grandchildren, Jessica Leighann Derrick, Jacob Lucas Derrick and Willie Walton III, one sister, Barbara Shirley and a host of nephews, nieces and friends. A special thanks to Baptist Hospice, Shirley Brown and Brenda Denio, who did a wonderful job taking care of her in her last days and all the doctors who helped through her illness. God Bless them. I Dont Buy Jewelry Mass of Christian burial will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at St. Patricks Catholic Church. Burial will be in Edgewood Memorial Park. Vigil service will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest register at www.nlrfh.com.
