Paula DeShon Obituary
Paula was a resident at Oakridge Home since 1985. Paula was a special person and loved by many. Paula enjoyed clocks, playing catch, cards, stuffed animals, puppies, music, and taking naps.
Paula overcame many obstacles in her life. At a very young age, doctors told her mother that she would never walk. Around the age of 2, Paula took her first solo steps. In 1962, Paula was recognized as the poster child for the "53-minute March for Cerebral Palsy".
She is preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, and 1 sister.
From words of Paulas' Sister, Lynn, "When Paula was in the hospital the nurses and doctors commented on how well Paula has been taken care of, they were amazed. Kudos to all of you, I cannot count how many times my mom said she was so happy that Paula had such a wonderful home and a wonderful family that cared for her. Oakridge is a happy home for everyone."
Memorial Service will be held at Oakridge Home, Movie Theater, April 30, 2025 at 2:00PM.
