Ester Loetta Smith

Ester Smith, age 86, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on February 5, 2026. She was born on November 15, 1939, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, and lived a life deeply rooted in faith, love, and service.
Ester loved her family more than anything. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into supporting, guiding, and praying for them throughout her life. She was also known for her famous homemade pies, lovingly shared with family, friends, and church members alike.
A devout Christian, Ester faithfully served as secretary of Bethel of Pentecostal Church for more than 40 years. Through her dedication, tireless work, and quiet leadership, she came to be known by many as "the backbone of the church." Her faith was not only professed but lived daily, reflected in her humility, kindness, and servant's heart.
She touched countless lives through her compassion and devotion, and her influence will continue to be felt for generations. Though she will be deeply missed, her family and church family find comfort in knowing she is now at peace and rejoicing in her eternal home.
She will be remembered always.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edmond Smith; son, Johnny Smith; brothers, Paul, Doyle, and Wilman Davis.
Ester is survived by her children, Debra Hendrix of Wewoka, OK, Bart Smith of Wewoka, OK; grandchildren, Amie Orr, Jennifer Hale, Leslie Shed, Greg Smith, Brett Smith, Mason Smith; great-grandchildren, Dalton Orr, Austin Orr, Gavin Hale, Weston Shed, Autumn Shed, Molly Smith, Aubrey Smith, Sullivan Smith, Layla Smith, Atticus Smith; great-great grandson, Jack Hale; sister, Lois Baxter, along with numerous of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers: Mason Smith, Justin Orr, Gavin Hale, Greg Smith, Matt Hale, Weston Shed.
Honorary Pallbearers: Matt Smith, Joseph Smith, Sullivan Smith, Jack Hale, Austin Orr, Dalton Orr, Jeremy Shed.
