Paula Jane Hart

Paula Jane Hart, age 70, passed away at Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital on May 11, 2025. She was born on December 8, 1954, in Tecumseh, MI, the daughter of the late Wayne Curtis and Greta Lou (Jennings) Filter. On September 18, 1976, she was joined in marriage with Thomas Joseph Hart in Tecumseh, MI, and they enjoyed over forty-eight years of wedded bliss until her passing.
Paula cherished her 11 years as part of Dr. Gio's office family as a receptionist and office manager until the time of her retirement in 2017. She was a past member of the Tecumseh American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Paula enjoyed traveling, going to the casino and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved being outside gardening and lounging by her pool. As a lifelong member of the Wolverine faithful she was always excited for fall Saturdays. Paula was both a known social butterfly and was happy at home watching game shows with her cats.
In addition to her husband, Tom, Paula is survived by her children, son, Christopher (Rebecca) Hart of Ithaca, NY and daughter Allison (Brian Moorhead) Hart of Tecumseh, MI; five grandchildren, Kennedy Jane Hart, Michael Christopher Hart, Madelyn Jane Hart, Carter Joseph Moorhead and Camden Edward Moorhead; and a brother, Jeffrey (Jeannie) Filter of Hereford AZ.
At her request, cremation has taken place. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life for Paula on Saturday July 12th from 12-2pm at Handler Funeral Home in Tecumseh, MI with a Luncheon to follow at the Tecumseh American Legion. Memorial contributions in Paula's honor may be made to Hospice of Lenawee.
