Paula Manuel Obituary
EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Paula Ann Manuel announces her passing on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at her home at the age of 70. A Mass will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Inurnment will follow at a later date in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Father Matthew Hebert officiating.
Paula began her higher education at LSUE, and then transferred to Texas Woman's University, attaining a degree in Elementary and Special Education. While teaching in Texas, she continued her education and received a Juris Doctorate Degree from South Texas College of Law. She returned to Louisiana and taught special education in St. Landry and Acadia Parish Schools for many years. After her retirement, she was active in the community working for various senior support programs and as a Senior Companion. She was kind, caring and generous to anyone in need. Paula was friendly and loved visting with family, old friends and new acquaintances. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. Paula was a loving sister, aunt and friend and leaves behind by her siblings, Dwight Manuel of Lafayette, Jocelyn Manuel Bellard and husband, Charles of Mowata, and Arleen Manuel Mink of Baton Rouge; nephew, Stewart Mink of Lafayette; nieces, Jessica Bellard Pourciau and husband, Damion of Lewisville, TX, Ashley Bellard Hutchinson and husband, Mark of South Lake, TX, Brooke Bellard McGee and husband, Lewis of Eunice, Vanessa Manuel Richard and husband, Kyle of Lafayette, and Kay Manuel Osmer and husband, Kyle of Harper's Ferry, WV; fourteen grand nephews and nieces; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anna Bordelon Manuel.
Visitation will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice on Saturday, February 23rd from 12:00 pm until time of services. At the request of the family, Masses may be offered for the repose of Paula's soul in lieu of flowers.
