EUNICE-With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Deborah F. Norris, who passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Carpenter House in Lafayette, surrounded by her beloved family. On Friday, October 3, 2025, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Ladies Altar Society will pray a Rosary at 10:00 am, immediately followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:30 am to celebrate her life. Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Father Dugas, Celebrant.
Deborah was born on April 18, 1953, to the late Allen and Ruth Fontenot. After working for a number of years as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in Florida, Deborah retired and moved home to Eunice. She reconnected with old friends and made many new ones. She enjoyed running, traveling, antiquing, and socializing with friends and family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her siblings, Sherryl Fontenot Bourgeois and husband, Joe, Cathy Fontenot Heinen and husband, Keith, and Gary Fontenot and wife, Sherry; her nieces and nephews, Kambie Stanley, Kristie Poirier, Brandon Heinen, Karlie Cantrell, Mary Katherine Bertrand, Brittni Heinen, Lauren Landry, Kip Brown, and Jordan Comeaux; and a host of great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Deborah is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Savage; parents, Allen and Ruth Fontenot; and brother, Carl Fontenot.
