Paula V. Martinez (Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Granny Crackers, Aunt PeeWee) joined our heavenly father in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the age of 82. She graduated from G. W. Brackenridge High School in 1959. Worked 20 years as a Production Controller (Aircraft) at Kelly AFB-Federal Government Civil Service. She retired when Kelly AFB shut down in 2001. Retirement did not slow Mom down; she worked at a children's boutique and later at the JBSA Lackland Main Exchange (BX) where she worked for an additional total of 14 years.
Nothing brought her more joy than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved them with every ounce of her soul. Her love shined through her beautiful smile and could be felt with every hug and every touch. She gave selflessly all that she could to anyone that needed help and she never gave up on anyone that was blessed enough to have her love. Her gift was the ability to see good in all those around her. The legacy she leaves is one of kindness, generosity, resilience, love and most of all compassion.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents Pablo Villarreal and Magdalena Guajardo Villarreal; daughter Frances Montoya; son Ralph V. Martinez; sisters Rosenda Ozuna, Ramona Valdez, and Angie Villarreal; brother Raul V. Martinez; and grandson Joshua Montoya.
She is survived by her daughters Paulita Trevino and Priscilla A. Tavera; sons Patrick V. Martinez, Jeffrey A. Martinez (Cindy Martinez), and Raul V. Martinez (Maria Zamora). She was also survived by her grandchildren Stephanie Pena (Manuel Pena), Mercie Villarreal (Omar Villarreal), Joe A. Tavera, Jocelyn Martinez, Skyler Martinez, Matthew Trevino, Lauren Trevino, Calandria Martinez, Nathan Martinez, and Nicholas Martinez; great grandchildren Samuel Escobedo, Savanna Escobedo, Samantha Escobedo, Zathian Soto, Naomi Villarreal, Delilah Grace Villarreal, Isaiah M. Martinez, and Ivy'annah A. Jackson. She was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
