Dover, NH - Paula Jane Christie Mone, 77, of Dover, died Sunday, July 16, 2023.
Born in Dover, NH, on November 9, 1945; she was the daughter of Vivian (Butterfield) and James Christie. Paula is survived by her husband Patrick of 56 years and her three children Lisa (Mike) Fourkas of Sunnyvale, CA, John Mone and wife Sarah Imrie of Newburyport, MA, and Daryl Mone of Dover. She is also survived by two sisters, Carol (Bill) Cullen and Sharon (George) Mourgenos. Paula had five grandchildren Grant Fourkas, Gabriella Fourkas, Aidan Mone, Finn Mone, Rowan Mone, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Jacqueline Nichols and Nancy Christie, and three brothers, Robert Bumbsy Butterfield, Ronald Christie, and Philip Christie
Paula grew up in Dover, attended Dover schools, and graduated from Dover High School in 1964. She was a sales girl at Helene's dress store during her high school years and married her high school sweetheart, Pat, in 1967. Pat was in the Navy at the time and they lived in Portsmouth, VA for a short period where their first child Lisa was born in 1968. They then moved back to their roots in Dover, where their sons, John and Daryl, were born in 1970 and 1973 respectively.
Paula later worked at Lacy's Dept Store, Carters Children's Outlet, and Liberty Mutual before her retirement in 2004. Following retirement, she, Pat, and Daryl enjoyed traveling. They made two road trips cross country to visit their son John and daughter Lisa's families. They also made two trips to Ireland to visit the country of their ancestors.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Paula's life at the Mone family home at 202 Silver Street in Dover, NH on Saturday, July 22 at 11 am. Following the celebration will be a light lunch.
