MUNCIE - Paula E. "Polly" Morey, 84, passed away peacefully and was reunited with her husband, Jack E Morey, Jr., on Monday October 28, 2024.
Polly was born in Elmira, NY on October 13, 1940 to the late Paul and Ruth Von Hendy. She was a devoted stay at home mother and wife. After her kids were school age, she worked 20+ years serving lunches at Yorktown High School.
Polly was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the St. Vincent De Paul Society. She spent hours volunteering and took great pride in her work as a sacristan for the church. Throughout her life, her faith and her family brought her the greatest joy.
Surviving are her 7 children: Jack E Morey III (wife: Ingrid), Theresa Noller (husband: Steve), Kathleen Zgunda (husband: Gary), Kevin Morey (wife: Karen), Yvonne Miller (husband: Greg), Kelly Morey (wife: Angie), and Jeanne Morey, 22 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Jeanne Moore and Nancy Baker, and sisters-in-law, Jutta Von Hendy and Donna Von Hendy.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years Jack E Morey, Jr., a granddaughter Natalie, two brothers, Paul Von Hendy and James Von Hendy, and a brother-in-law, Ronald Moore.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson Street, Muncie, with Father Andrew Thornton presiding. Burial will follow the Mass at Elm Ridge Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson Street, Muncie, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson Street, Muncie, IN, 47303 or to St. Vincent De Paul Society c/o St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson Street, Muncie, IN, 47303.
