Paula Perse Obituary
Paula was born on December 17, 1956, in Pueblo, Colorado, to Rose Cascio and Fred Perse. At the age of five, Paula moved to California and grew up in San Bernardino with her mother and sister, Patricia. In 1992, she moved to San Francisco, where she met her husband Mark. They welcomed a daughter, Ashley, in 1996.
Paula spent her career committed to caring for others. She began her career as a nurse and later became a state surveyor of nursing homes. In her final career position, she spent 29 years working at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. She is lauded by her work community for her passion and commitment to ensuring the health and safety of countless patients throughout her long career.
In 2021, Paula retired and spent her time meeting up with friends, watching her favorite shows, talking on the phone with family, and caring for her cat, Ploppy.
Paula is survived by her husband Mark Etter, daughter Ashley Etter, and sister Patricia Palmeri. Paula has been described as a force of nature. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
